I've this box for 5 days now. It is connected to my old TV using composite. I've tried different FW, the official, semiofficial, XtrAIOS 3.0.7, and the 3.0.11. The official and semi are giving me good sound quality but both versions of XtrAIOS are not. The sound of the later is very low in volume that I can hardly hear it in full volume of my TV set and it is also distorted. Is there any sound setting that needs adjustment in order to fix my problem? I like this FW, it can play some of my downloaded videos which are not playable in the official and the semi.
My problem is only for this fw. The sound in the official and semi is very good. I'm not sure if this problem is only on the RCA connection of also true with hdmi and optical connections. We did not get that much of response from the other users so I suspect that my box is faulty.
I prefer Xtraios. Gives better sound for me.
But you can't just blame the FW. There are other notable factors that may contribute to the low quality of sound, especially considering the media player wasn't designed for the most HiFi applications possible.
Are you using HDMI or composite? My box produces a very bad quality sound and very low in volume via composite that I can hardly hear it. The stock and the semi is very clear which I think
equivalent to the "hall" dsp setting in some AV receivers.
I am using HDMI input into my TV's internal audio. The volume is also significantly more weaker compared to the TV, so I have to crank the box to full volume and adjust the TV accordingly. I find that the volume can be very extreme, fluctuating from very loud to very quite in the media being played. I am no hifi expert so I also have no idea what's going on, just my best guesses.
